Now he goes window cleaning to earn an honest bob, but not so long ago Hayes Lane was where he had his job.
He’d tear defences wide apart, his goals were like a work of art, he even broke the Wombles’ heart
Super Nic McDonnell
He jumped and latched on Woodo’s cross and headed home the ball. When it comes to screwing KFC, it’s right up there with Ryan Hall
The boys played on with grit and pride, proved they were the better side, then the whole of Bromley cried “Super Nic McDonnell”
He scored a goal at Gillingham that really was a treat, that you’d have sworn that super Nic had strapped explosives to his feet.
He slipped into the final third, shot and had the final word, then the travelling army purred “Super Nic McDonnell”
His goal to games played ratio was as good as any pro’s, and Super Nic would always keep the opposition on their toes.
He’d use his strength to win the ball, without it looking hard at all, and make his marker look a fool

He said goodbye to Bromley at the end of his career, but when he comes home to see the lads, he always gets a cheer. So if you are a Bromley Fan, and see him sitting in the stand, just shake him firmly by the hand – he’s Super Nic McDonnell

Nothing compares to the terror that reigns – Bromley guarding a slender old lead in a game, and it’s late in the match, you gotta switch with the minimum of fuss. We’re going 4-5-1 my son, we’re gonna park the bus.
Make sure the back four are fast on their feet, cos when the midfield opposing you are staring at defeat, they’re gonna go long – they’re going to play it over the top of us. You’ve got to chase down the long balls, you’ve got to park the bus.
One big attacker holding up the ball - a box to box midfielder giving it his all, covering defenders for strength at the back, and linking the play on the counter attack.
This ain’t the way Bromley usually play, but “needs must” when you’re chasing the points, that’s what they say…. we’re gonna be doing it anyway.
We’re gonna do what’s right for us, we’re gonna park the bus.

Falling out of the Bricklayer’s Arms on a semi regular basis
